Maria Kato

Maria is a Japanese American who was raised across America, Bangladesh, Laos, and Japan. She has recently moved from Tokyo to begin her undergraduate education at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about how social determinants of health affect the body, specifically in the brain-body pathway that links racism with diseases. In her free time, she loves to exercise, try new foods, study, and write creative works. While this is her first year away from her triplet siblings and mother, she is excited to meet her new Banteay Srei family, and support bright young Asian women as they enter womanhood!
